Yuber went viral a couple of years ago for recording an honest video about his experience streaming on Twitch, and uploaded it to YouTube. The video went viral with over 1.2 million views currently. Yuber exposes the terrible advice given as he is a living example showing that it doesn’t work. Streaming random games, having a schedule, quality of streams are all nice to have, but at the end of the day it does not help you grow. Twitch does not have any incentive to show brand new streamers.
They do not make the platform any money, so only the already established creators get the spotlight. This is no longer Justin.TV or the early days of Twitch where random people might pop in your stream. Those days are long gone, and hoping that you are going to get hosted, or get raided, or hope that you get the twitch front page with knowing someone is idiot, and probably around the same odds as winning the lottery. In this video EvilJagan explains why streaming on Twitch is a waste of time if you don’t have an audience, and how you can avoid ended up in a situation like Yuber’s. He lost his girlfriend, friends, and livelihood all chasing a dream following bad advice seen on websites like reddit.
